El Toro Papaya Wins PBRPRPSCLCSAIWCWU, Thanks Chinatown Express
The first event of the City League off-season training program was held last night at Whiskey Dix Saloon. There were veteran players as well as some new faces who may, in time, develop into some of the best players in the city (they did show promise). Curiously missing from action was City League Champion Johnny Goodtimes, whose mere mention was roundly booed throughout the night.
It was obvious that some competitors have continued to train vigorously in the off-season while others have become quite lazy. The PBRPRPSCLCS is quite pleased with some of you and fairly disgusted with others. The goal is to bring a World Championship to Philadelphia on November 11th (see www.worldrps.com for full details).
El Toro Papaya was in a zone like no other and came out on top, defeating Bacon Shark 3 matches to 0 to claim the title and $100 prize. He then continued his dominance on the night by winning anywhere from $3-$9 in low stakes money games after the tournament (that were not endorsed by the PBRPRPSCLCS in any way). The whole time all he talked about was the Chinatown Bus, distracting his opponents with “I mean, I’ve ridden it a lot, but seriously, it’s pretty comfortable and also pretty fast. Give it a go” or “Yeah, I just rolled in from Boston on it and came straight here. I wasn’t going to come, but the Fung Wah bus really re-energized me and helped me to find a strategic focus that really paid off tonight and continues to do so” or perhaps “Yeah, it’s a shame that they don’t serve Pabst Blue Ribbon on board or else it would be the absolute perfect way to go, no doubt. But I hear Urbanus might talk to them about that sometime”.
Female Ninja Whore won the street RPS championship against closest runner-up Dan Pike (and $40 to boot) despite losing in the first round of competition.
