End of Season Prize Update!
Since the 2008 Season ends tonight at the Dive, here’s a look at where the end of season prizes look like. Only 2 of the 4 have not been clinched and 1 of those 2 is pretty darn close to being clinched.
Total Points: Loomer has led this all season. Paper Tiger had a shot at catching him this week, but double points week has not been kind to the Paper Tiger. It has been kind to PJ Rhymeswithsausage who has moved into 2nd place, currently 4 points up on the Tiger and 14 behind Loomer. Loomer is up 92-78-74. While this hasn’t been clinched, it would require both a Loomer round 1 loss (which doesn’t happen often) and either a championship or a 2nd place finish and street RPS victory by PJ Rhymeswithsausage. It could also be a Loomer loss in round 2, but then PJ would need to win the championship and street prize for the 2nd night in a row, which is a tall order. Paper Tiger has been eliminated from contention as the best he can do is tie, with Loomer winning the power ranking tie-breaker.
Rookie of the Year: Loomer has this wrapped up. His closest competition for this has been Le Tigre who is currently about 30 points behind. Despite that seemingly large point gap, this has been a spririted match and it will be exciting to see this rivalry continue on after the 2008 season has ended.
Street RPS: This is tight. PJ Rhymeswithsausage is in the lead with 394 to Billy Shearz 359. But anyone at 250 or above may have a shot at it tonight at the Dive, as the rumor going around is that there will be a lot of street cash circulated on the last night of the 2008 season.
Team Prize: The Majestic 12 won this long ago. Not only did they come out often, but they have played extremely well all season led by Loomer and his nearly 100 points. They have won 7 championships so far on the year. The major Contibutors: Loomer, Grim Trigger, Hulk Hoagie, and founding members Billy Shearz and the Fighting Mongooses.
