Billy Shears Wins and Really Knows How to Celebrate!
The Majestic 12 have done pretty good all season, but really step it up at the Dive on Thursdays. With 4 players, they again almost pulled off a perfect team score for the night racking up 22 out of a possible 24. The finals were Loomer Vs. Billy Shears for the 2nd time this season. Mr. Shears got his revenge for the tough loss last time – only the 2nd time Loomer has ever lost in a championship match. It was also Billy Shears’ 2nd consecutive Thursday night win.
Billy Shears then immediately “rewarded” his team (and the ref) as they used his winnings to “celebrate” with a full 16 small glasses full of both red and orange Mad Dog 20/20 (above). Look at how excited Loomer is! He shouldn’t get too excited though, because Billy Shears has moved himself into 3rd place for the season and is within striking distance of the lead in total points.
The Scissors Blizzard used his MD 20/20 samples to wash down the sweet taste of a sweet Street RPS victory with a sweet orange-like substance. He ended up beating his teammate Grim Trigger by a score of 75-69. Grim Trigger could have had a shot at it, but overconfidence really did him in as he refused to play for the title. Grim Trigger seemed to have a bitter taste in his mouth about the loss but then realized everything was cool, it was just the bitter aftertaste of orange MD 20/20.
There was, as happens from time to time, a second Rock Paper Scissors tournament just for funzies after the first one ended. Willy “go back to Jersey” Smears almost took that one too, but instead he blew it and let Dear Sweetest Double Yow (Grim Trigger) win the tournament that you don’t get anything for winning.
