The Fighting Mongooses Breaks Out of His Slump at Dirty Franks! 2008 Champion Mr. Is Returns!
The Fighting Mongooses (above, 2nd from left) of the Majestic 12 started off pretty cold this year, having not even having won a single match at the halfway point of the season. But he got back into the winning groove last night at Dirty Franks. He met up with 2006 City League Champ Baconshark in the finals and really took it to him, blanking him 3 matches to 0 and letting the former champ score only one point throughout. I’m sure Team David Bowie’s Package will have something to say about this. They don’t take too kindly to either the Fighting Mongooses or one of their own losing in the finals.
In other David Bowie’s Package and Philly Rock Paper Scissors news – 2008 PBRPRPSCLCS Champ Mr. Is rolled back into town from hippyland last night to defend her title. She beat up on Mr. Bukakke Resurrection (who will drop some major knowledge if you let him – especially how to properly run a RPS league) in a shutout but the Champ was done in by jetlag, the increased oxygen content in the air, and the fine play of The Fighting Mongooses, who knocked her out in round 3. But don’t worry – she’ll be around for the rest of the season.
Team Sh&*caked Toiletbowl was back from vacation and back to playing RPS at Dirty Franks. As unexciting as the finals on the night were, the Street contest was the exact opposite (actually exciting). Teammates Tina the Boy and Rockstar came in 1st and 2nd and decided to play for it tournament-style. It came down to the last throw in the last match, but Rockstar (up above there) made the winning throw to collect herself $128 street bucks on the night.
