The Fighting Mongooses Denies Billy Shears The Single Season Win Record! Another Majestic 12 Sweep at the Dive!

The Fighting Mongooses (above, being celebrated) of the Majestic 12 had a rough start to the 2009 season, but he’s really turned on the juice (Pabst Blue Ribbon and Jim Beam maybe?) the past few weeks and took home his 2nd title of the year (and 11 out of 20 total tourneys on the season for his team) at the Dive. The Fighting Mongooses took down his teammate Billy Shears in the finals in a crazy good match that came down to the last throw in set 5. It wasn’t easy street for The Fighting Mongooses either, as he had to take down the top 3 leaders in season points (Frankie13, Loomer & Billy Shears) to take home the win and, since it was the start of Double Points Week, the Fighting Mongooses has moved up to the number 4 spot on the season. Billy Shears would have set a season record for wins with 5, but instead he didn’t. He is within 6 points of Loomer though even with the loss.
After the tournament, Team Bluetooth showed up (that’s them up there with the Majestic 12 and I Want the Gold – who hadn’t previously been seen since week 3 of the 2006 season) and they were bummed they missed the tournament so there was another no-point tournament that rookie player Enrico Pallatzo won over I Want the Gold in a pretty dominating style. Enrico Pallatzo also sang the national anthem poorly before the game.

The Scissors Blizzard (above, tallest of that batch) of the Majestic 12 is having a rough 2009 so far, but it’s not stopping him from hustling a little Street RPS. He cut up the competition field there – defeating a neighborly I Want the Gold by a score of 149 – 73.
After that was over, this happened for some reason:
