Mr. Strawberry Races to His First Victory Since 2007!
With all these new up-and-comers winning all these tournaments so far this year (like Paper Tiger) some felt it was nice to see an old vet take the cake (hint, hint) at the Raven Lounge in week 3. Mr. Strawberry (at left – looking good on that pole, my man) won his first tournament since Calendar Club Gorilla was roaming the streets and the 2008 Women in Waders calendar was considered a fine prize! He won a tight match in the finals against crowd favorite Beanz, who was making her professional RPS debut. It came down to the very last throw and Mr. Strawberry made a fine choice of either Rock, Paper or Scissors to win it. And look! I get to post my favorite bonus picture ever!
It was the first win for Team Feed the Pony, which is no big surprise since one of their team members lives in California, another in Delaware, a third in Germany and then a there’s couple guys who haven’t played yet this year. There’s also some talk that The Foes of Strawberry were so disgusted with Mr. Strawberry winning for the first time in 4 years that they may have thrown in the RPS towel for good. At least they got out of it with a 2009 PBRPRPSCLCS Championship.
And yeah, it was Dick Nasty who won street again. That’s 6 out of 11 times so there isn’t a whole lot left to say anymore except everyone is complaining about him winning all the time. Also, if you look at the PBRPRPSCLCS official camera it looks like someone is stalking him.
If only Dick Nasty could play so well in the tournament. He would be in first place instead of chasing the Paper Tiger.
