Things Get Pretty Nasty in Week One at Teri’s!

The end of week 1 of the 2011 PBRPRPSCLCS marked the first time that Thursday night RPS has ever changed locations but it wasn’t without some familiar faces (the guy behind the bar was your Thursday night bartender during the 2006 season)  or some great Rock Paper Scissors.  Also, there was so much room!  And tater tots!

Anyway, the first night at Teri’s also happened to be the last night that J. Martin Hill would be playing for the Blackout Motherf*ckers, a team that he had joined just this past Monday.  Despite an inability to commit to teamateship, Mr. Hill was determined to go out on a high note.  All that was well and good as he made it to the finals to play Dick Nasty, who was having a pretty good week one already.  But a pretty good week one became a really good week one as Mr. Nasty came from behind in the finals in what became an instant classic of a match.  Much like the finals on Monday and Tuesday it came down to the final throw in the 5th set and Dick Nasty took it home.  It was his first in-season tournament win.

But Dick Nasty didn’t stop with just winning the regular tournament!  He pulled off the rare RPS Double when he won the Street RPS deal as well.  It wasn’t even really close either.  He had more than double the next closest player.

Mr. Nasty had hoped to win street at all four opening week events, but he’ll just have to settle for 3 out of 4 and a tournament win.  It’s tough being Dick Nasty.

Unfortunately he couldn’t win every match.  Old friend of the PBRPRPSCLCS Leah showed up on her birthday.  She wanted to play a match against the champ and she beat him squarely tournament style.  Mr. Richard Nasty should be glad that she showed up too late to play.

None of you will remember that Leah was a top 16 player at the 2004 Magic Hat Northeast Classic and three or four of you may remember that she was a fine ref at the 2005 PBR Keystone Classic.  But it was her birthday we told her we’d put her on the internet.  Happy birthday!
