Female Ninja Whore is almost unstoppable at this point. She rolled into Tritone and won. She rolled into the Dive the next night and outplayed 36 other competitors. She lost to the champ at the Dive last week. Last night she walked into Finn McCool’s and won for the 3rd time in 4 tries defeating Frightening Frankie Thirteen in the finals. The Philadelphia, as well as World RPS community, is wondering if she can be stopped. Female Ninja Whore says “no”.

The Dancing Marine picked up a street RPS championship (and 2 extra points) on the night. He defeated Frightening Frankie Thirteen (who did really well at finishing second last night) 38-36.

There were tw tournaments held back-to-back, where Paper Tiger defeated Skippy Dog to win not for points or money, but for pride and satisfaction.

There is a picture of all three of them that will be up later.

Said The Rangler: “It’s almost like she doesn’t respect me with how poorly she played in the finals.”

Said My Fingers Make Me Happy: “It’s almost like he doesn’t respect me with how soundly he defeated me in the finals. I want no part of him nor his Finn McCool’s gift certificates. I’ve learned from this loss and will win the championship at Tritone tomorrow, no doubt.”

Time will only tell if My Fingers Make Me Happy’s bold guarantee will hold.

Hats off to Jen S., who was running late and had to play almost before she even walked in the door. She then proceeded to roll on to the final four. You can check her out, along with the rest of her roller girl pals at www.phillyrollergirls.com. Don’t forget to go see the Philthy Britches and Heavy Metal Hookers on June 4.

Pete the Beat is quickly becoming a giant of the sport. Yesterday at Finn McCool’s he stood head and shoulders above the rest of the competition and in the end looked down upon them all from the championship throne (which was actually standing behind a table).

All joking aside, Pete is pretty tall, man. I’ll get over it. Pete also cruised to a sweet Finn McCool’s victory last night, defeating Non-Partisan Jawn in the finals to take home the title.

Afterwards, Pete the beat issued a warning to all comers: “I don’t care if you are based on, influenced by, affiliated with, or supporting the interests or policies of no single political party or not. I will still beat you. Pete the Beat OUT.”

The Swiss Army arrived in force at Finn McCool’s on Tuesday, boasting a team 10 strong. But there isn’t always strength in numbers as they began to fall like dead birds in round 2.

In the end it came down to Matt Luber (who trains with the Goldberg/Farma clan) and The Dancing Marine (not the Dancing Machine as our silly announcer said). The Dancing Marine took Matt Luber in a match that was fit for dancing kings. In his post-championship interview, the Dancing Marine didn’t speak but merely did a little jig and smiled a winner’s smile much to the delight of the customers of Finn McCool’s.

The Swiss Army, upon their last player being eliminated, announced that most of their team were done with “college” and would be “out of town” until the fall.

Translation: “I can’t believe we all lost. I still love and will play competitive RPS all the time this season, but this bitterness and disappointment is overwhelming.”

While the Flyers may have disappointed Philadelphia hockey fans yesterday, there was no such disappointment when it came to RPS.

Fangs Friedman took off her glasses to “see the throws with more clarity” and pulled off a stunning come-from-behind victory in the finals over Skippy Dog. Skippy Dog (always a student of the game) has obviously been watching footage of the Bartulo/Rammage match from the 2004 International World Championships, as he used Rammage’s strategy of consistantly poor priming techniques to wear down his opponent and exhaust the ref.

Jetsetter Champion Fangs Friedman was then off to San Francisco because “the RPS is pretty good out there too…not Philadelphia good, but still pretty good”. She also noted that she may make an appearance at the 2006 SW US Pro-Ams at Roshambo Winery . For more info on that, check out www.roshambowinery.com.

Remy (formerly known as Rich Goldberg) took home the title at Finn McCool’s for the second time in three weeks by defeating Rookie of the Week candidate Melissa C. Remy easily kept all the Finn McCool’s gift certificates handed out so far this season in the Goldberg/Farma family pockets (see last week for more on that).

While Remy was somewhat cocky (and rightfully so) in his latest and greatest victory, it was impressive to see him pull the move that Master Roshambollah has made famous…switching priming hands in mid-match. He also used the unorthodox combination of dancing, bopping and hopping during his return to the top.

Remy has now definitely established himself as one of the players to beat this season. If you think you have what it takes to take down (or learn from) one of the best, you can see him every Tuesday at Finn McCool’s.
