RPS DVD will be available to rent in the new year from Netflix but we need your help!

We need as many people to add the film to their Netflix queue. The more queues its in the more DVDs they will order from our distributor and the more effort they will put behind it’s distribution. You (and your friends and family) don’t even need to ever actually rent the movie (obviously we’d encourage you to do so because it’s awesome) so even if you’ve seen it please still add it to your queue!

We need 5000+ people so every person counts. Please forward to this on, add it to your blog, stick in on a message board and tweet with abandon. Find the release on Netflix and add it today!

Hey it’s holiday time!  And if you need the perfect gift for your favorite RPS enthusiast (besides a calendar from the Calendar Club at the Shops at Liberty Place) you’re in luck!  It just so happens that the long-in-filming, long-in-production RPS documentary is finally available on DVD! 

See your esteemed Commissioner as he was in 2003-2005 as well as a host of other RPS celebrities!  Master Roshambollah!  Master Pete Lovering!  Rob Krueger!  Custardchuk for a brief moment!  Brad Fox!  They’re all here, plus many more people (both liked and disliked by me) who helped make competitive RPS what it is today, captured forever in this wonderful movie.  All this and more (audio commentary, etc.) can be had right over here from IndiePix.  Go buy it.

Happy Birthday to Paper Chase, who shares this birthday with one of the most famous RPS players in the history of the world. Said player is also a darn fine ref, as per my sources.

One of Philadelphia’s RPS superstars sent a link to this over to PBRPRPSCLCS HQ last night…and since it’s been awhile since posting about it, the PBRPRPSCLCS webmaster has finally taken the time to learn how to embed YouTube clips. So here’s the trailer for Mike Mckeown’s documentary that won the People’s Choice Award in Calgary in September. Stay tuned to www.rpsfilm.com for the latest news. You’ll see the birthday boy Urbanus pop up there for a moment in the trailer. Rest assured that he is one of the 2 players profiled in the film. The long-awaited premiere of Frankie13 Vs. the World is going down this Saturday as part of the Philadelphia Film Festival.  This is a short documentary focusing on PBRPRPSCLCS competitor Frankie13.  It’s not about RPS, but there is plenty of RPS in it.  It’s at the International House at 8 PM and you can buy tickets if you follow the link above.

 If you were at the 2006 Keystone Classic, the 2006 World Championships in Toronto or the 2007 August off-season event at National Mechanics there’s a good chance you’ll catch at least a glimpse of yourself.

Oh, and don’t forget – 2008 PBRPRPSCLCS starts a week from today!

Three years of filming and two years of post-production later, it’s finally time for the world premier of the RPS documentary made by Mike McKeown.  It’s premiering at the Calgary International Film Festival on Tuesday, September 25th.  The site for it is right here.
