What is this? 1996?

Hi I’m the webmaster.

Over the past week, some kind individuals trying to promote various payday loan scams attempted some internet-based skulduggery on the site. It didn’t work, but it left the database that powers the site in a specific state that we, information technology professionals, call “hosed”. As we had a glorious re-design of the site “kind of in the works” – the PBRPRPSCLCS has been kind enough to let us launch that “work in progress” version instead of spending a lot of time and effort repairing the old version… just to replace it.

The long and the short of it, is there are a number of features that don’t currently work quite right, and I have numerous issues to address over the coming week(s). If you come across something that seems broken (or the big one right now is missing images on a lot of page) assume I am aware of the issue, and trying to get through my “to-do” list as quickly as possible.

It seems some of the recent posts are disappearing (like that one for Mustaches for Kids a few down from here).  The IT staff is working on this situation.  Sorry for any inconvenience.

So bear with us if there are connectivity problems until this is resolved.  We have the finest unpaid help looking into it.

E-mail has been restored (as well as the Keystone Classic site, but that isn’t important these days) to the City League offices…so if you had something bounced back or ignored in the past couple of days it should be all right to send now, especially if it regards stuff I need for the 2008 Championship this Saturday.

It appears that an explosion in Houston has knocked the main City League e-mail off-line for about the past 36 hours or so since Saturday morning. There is still currently no access to it as they continue to try and fix the problem down there, but hopefully it should be resolved soon (or at least by Monday morning evening).

If anyone tried to send an e-mail (especially regarding Championship Saturday this week) over the weekend and had it returned or unanswered, this was not the PBRPRPSCLCS management ignoring you or closing up shop and running away with all the prize money, just a slight problem of stuff blowing up somewhere.

UPDATE: It is still not working, as it appears the damage on the first floor was “much more severe” than originally thought. Something about the blast destroying all the underground wiring or something.

But things are back in action now so we can update during the off-season, well, every few weeks.
