Remember back after the 2008 Championship, when J. Martin Hill and Harper Lee went down to live in, of all places, Gaithersburg Maryland?  Well, good news (especially for them)!  Those two homegrown talents (who are now Mr. J. Martin Hill & Mrs. Harper Lee) have returned to the Philly area and will be back to competing during the 2010 season. 

Our sources are hearing that there will not be a reincarnation of The Ernie Vanderbilt College of Gaming & Wagers, LLC, so if you’re a team you may want to consider offering these free agents a pretty sweet deal.  Unless they go back to the Paper Cut Posse.  That could happen too.

New players B-Pac and Dr. Hambone (along with A Boy Named Sue) had informed the PBRPRPSCLCS official on-site Thursday night that they were splitting off from the Dirty Dozen to form their own team, called Fast Primes at Ridgemont High.  This was not submitted in time to the team application processors, therefore the Dirty Dozen were credited with an extra 16 points.  Those points have been removed from the Dirty Dozens totals and credited to the new team.  As per the team prize rules, the points both players scored before notification and PBRPRPSCLCS approval of a new team will remain with their old team.

In addition, as of Monday night, the longstanding team Demolition Rickshaw has been disbanded.  Frankie13 has sinced joined Fast Primes at Ridgemont High, and the team has been renamed Fast Primes at Rickshaw High.  Their stated goal, like most teams, is to beat the Majestic 12 this season.

Hey look – it’s David Bowie’s Package (above, minus founding member and 2008 World Championship non-competitor Zombie Llama) – with their 2 PBRPRPSCLCS Champs and PJ.  And the Reverand Roshambo of the Minneapolis Roshambo Hustlers drinking what I can only imagine is Jim Beam or Pabst Blue Ribbon right behind them!

Anyways, DBP has been updating their ol’ team blog a little bit to include a rundown on the 2008 World Championships up in Toronto and other little things.  Also, there’s a poll about Texas where PJ and 2007 Champion Baconshark are currently for SXSW.  So go vote right here.  This also means that PJ Rhymeswithsausage will not win the street prize at Dirty Franks tonight.  Hooray says the Majestic 12!

Just a month after the 2008 PBRPRPSCLCS wrapped up, and The Paper Cut Posse  are already down 2 players heading into 2009.  Gone are J. Martin Hill (who also ran the NJ RPS Championship in 2005 and 2006 and has competed in 3 World Championships) and Harper Lee, both formerly of the now-defunct Ernie Vanderbilt College of Games and Wagers, LLC. 

They take their combined 2008 record of 12-23 (inc. CL Championships) with them down to Gaithersburg MD, which is Philadelphia’s long-standing RPS arch-nemisis after having taken the only two PBR RPS Keystone Classic titles back down South with them(Gaithersburg resident Martin Maier in 2005 and Megan Powers in 2006).

The PBRPRPSCLCS wish the best to J. Martin Hill and Harper Lee in their new surroundings, even if those surroundings are Gaithersburg, MD.  Hopefully the new transplants will start up a tournament that players from Philadelphia will go in and win every year.  Stupid Gaithersburg.

Anyway, maybe we’ll catch up with them both sometime in the forthcoming Where Are They Now section of the site.

Word has it that the Foes of Strawbanus may be thinking about doing the same, but PBRPRPSCLCS Leadership thinks they are far more lazy than TDBP and the PCP combined so it might be awhile.  I mean, Danny Awesome hasn’t even updated Philadelphia Will Do today and that’s his job. [update - he updated it]

The PBRPRPSCLCS has been notified that the Paper Cuts (who dominated the March event) are in the midst of soliciting veteran talent (and money apparently) to add to their ranks for the 2008 Pabst Blue Ribbon Philadelphia Rock Paper Scissors City League season.
